Today’s Lion in the Limelight focuses on Online Sales Representative, Dane Doulames, who hails from Atkinson, NH. Dane is a newbie to the onDemand team but in his short time here he has already proven he has what it takes. This week, I spent a few minutes with Dane to learn more about why he chose Lionbridge onDemand and where he sees his career going.
Ashleigh: Tell us about your role and position at Lionbridge onDemand?
Dane: I’m an Online Sales Representative for the Goodmancial team. I usually target manufacturing, consumer goods and financial companies. We handle the whole sales process from prospecting all the way to account management, which is pretty unique for most sales positions.
Ashleigh: What about Lionbridge onDemand made you want to work here in the first place?
Dane: Like I said before, being in control of the whole sales process is a great learning experience and really helps you become a well-rounded sales person. Most other positions I looked into when I was first applying for jobs didn’t provide that type of learning opportunity so I figured onDemand would be the perfect fit.
Ashleigh: What is your proudest/ favorite memory at Lionbridge onDemand?
Dane: My first sale.
Ashleigh: Tell us about your first sale?
Dane: It actually came out of the blue. A client reached out to get a small sign translated and I walked him through the process then boom, my first sale. It wasn’t worth much or too exciting but it felt good to get the monkey off my back.
Ashleigh: Before working at Lionbridge, what other jobs did you have?
Dane: I’ve done a little bit of everything for work throughout high school and college. First I was a factory worker for a food packing company (don’t recommend), then an office assistant, then took a job as a rec sports supervisor during college and worked as a mover during the summer. My most recent was a marketing/sales intern at a small recycling company.
Ashleigh: What are your long-term career goals and aspirations?
Dane: I enjoy sales, so I would like to one day manage a team of sales people. I managed a group of referees in college for the rec department and really enjoyed helping out everyone and seeing them grow.
Ashleigh: What’s your claim to fame?
Dane: Never broken a bone
Fun Fact: Went to one of the biggest ski/snowboarding schools in the country and have never stepped on a mountain in my life.
